Friday Faves: Week 4

Happy Friday!!

I woke up today feeling a little like this:

I'm super excited for the weekend. Can I get an Amen??

This pic brings me to number one of my Friday Faves!

1. Will & Grace

It is my absolute favorite show. It's what I fall asleep to every night. I quote it frequently. I compare daily situations to those on the show. I have every season. I actually have two of Season 1 because I lost a disc. (BTW- I think it would be a BRILLIANT idea if there were a company out there who just replace single discs of television shows.....or maybe I should just stop losing mine.)

2. Neon

Etsy

Neon is so popular right now! My 8th grade self (who used 6 different colored neon highlighters to take notes) is squealing right now! Don't go painting a wall or anything...or do, more power to ya! But just think, a small neon piece on your bookshelf, a print in your gallery wall, a hair accessory or your next party theme! Neon all the way!

3. Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip

I got the recipe here and I have been in love ever since. My favorite thing to dip in is yellow bell peppers. It's my go to snack these days! Next time I make it, I'm going to make my own ranch seasoning vs buying the pack. But it's delicious and I honestly like it better than regular ranch.

4. Target Does It Again

If you are not following them, get on it...STAT! I follow Jen & Laura on Instagram as they take on the very best of Target. They don't discriminate....follow them on your favorite social media: Pinterest, Tumblr and Facebook.

I've noticed a lot lately how Target is teaming up with small businesses and designers/bloggers to create new products and I love it all! I'm eagerly awaiting Emily Henderson's line!

5. Knot & Bow Etsy Shop

Looking for some Neon (or just any) stationary/craft/party essentials? Knot & Bow is your shop! I have a smile on my face as I scroll through their wonderfully colorful pages!

Guys, that's a wrap up for Week 4 of my Friday Faves! Catch ya next time!

What We Ate in March

It felt like we were barely home in March. It's not true, but when you are out of town for two weekends in a row it sure feels that way! On top of that, March is my birthday month, we started our weekly Dave Ramsey class and it was overall just a busier than usual month. So, that means we only made 5 NEW recipes. We did cook more than 5 times....steak, cereal (getting that cereal to milk ratio takes hard work, patience & practice!), and a lot of meal repeats!

Here are the newbies we made:

*I feel like I should state that we do not eat JUST SWEETS! I know it looks like it, but these were just the new recipes we made! Promise :)

1. Pioneer Woman Mini Meatball Sandwiches

Easy. Delicious. Pioneer Woman. 'Nuff said.

2. Zucchini-Sausage Casserole

Ok....I'm not going to lie, I was doubtful of this guy. I knew I would like it (maybe not love it), but I was really nervous about what Jake would think. No lie....this is one of the best casseroles we've ever had! We will be making this one again, for sure!!

3. French Toast Bake

Um...wow. It was good, but oh so sweet. Some may say *TOO* sweet...ya know, if that's possible. My suggestions would be to bake a little longer, I like my french toast more "done", and seriously, don't add anything else to make it sweeter. Geez Louise!

4. Chocolate Italian Love Cake

We made this cake for our ReGroup and it was such a hit! Jake LOVED this cake as well. He said it was one of his faves. What is really cool about this cake is how the two bottom layers switch in the baking process!

5. Trisha's Snickerdoodles

FYI...this recipe make A LOT of cookies, so it would be a good one if you needed cookies in bulk! Also, the dough may have been the softest dough I've ever used!

Nothing was added to the Tried and Disliked board on Pinterest, although the french toast came kinda close.

Happy Hump Day!!

Grooms team...ASSEMBLE!

Looking for an awesome way to ask your Grooms Team to be apart of the wedding? Look no further!

Jake's sis Emma actually came up with these HILARIOUS Anchorman themed cards!

On the front of each card was this picture...

This was the back of the card.

I seriously crack up every time I see these..in fact I think I'm gonna watch Anchorman again tonight.

If you're needing an idea for groomsman gifts, here is what we did for our guys!

You can see my post here of the cards I made my bridesmaids when I asked them to be in my wedding party.

I'll leave you with a picture of the awesome men who made up our wedding party!

They are all as fun as they look...promise!

Friday Faves: Week 3

HEY-O!! Happy Friday! Welcome to the 3rd installment of my Friday Favorites Series!

Here's what's going down this week:
1. Chelsea Handler
2. The Mindy Project
3. Jamberry

1. Chelsea Handler

I have always been a fan of Chelsea. I have read all of the books (I just started Uganda Be Kidding Me), watch her show and follow her every social media place imaginable. You can find a previous post here of some of my favorite quotes from her past books.

This past weekend, for my birthday, Hil & I were able to go see her on tour! Now if you know me, you know that I don't like going to concerts very much. Really, anything with a big crowd, I'm not a fan of. I am a homebody! But some things, like OU games, SYTYCD and Chelsea Handler...you've got to make an exception! She was hilarious. I cried. My cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. My next step in fulfilling my Chelsea Handler dream would be to go and see her tape her show in LA.

Plus how could you not LOVE her even more for wearing an OU hat?! Boomer!

2. The Mindy Project

The Mindy Project is seriously one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. Mindy produces the most ridiculous and hilarious one liners and quotes I've ever heard. Some of my faves:

Cliff: Do you really need to tan?
Mindy: Babe this is the palest I've ever been. I'm basically a white person. Yesterday I caught myself watching lacrosse, and I liked it.

Casey: did you tell them the good news?
Mindy: I did not. Guys I lost three pounds of water weight from diarrhea.

Casey: Why are you going to Hell?
Mindy: I love gossip and I don't really care about the environment.

Evan: Mindy you're a doctor do something!
Mindy: I'm a gynecologist Evan. Why don't you web design him back to life!

Mindy: Max I am on a date right now. Do you know how difficult it is for a chubby 31 year old woman to go on a legit date with a guy who majored in economics at Duke?
Dennis: I never told you those things.
Mindy: I looked it up online okay? Relax!

She is neurotic, self conscious, smart and ridiculous....and makes all of those qualities hilarious! If you enjoy the show, you should absolutely read her book!

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (and other concerns)

3. Jamberry Nails

I'm not going to lie...I'm the worst at keeping my nails neat and tidy, let alone painted. I'm a nail biter, cuticle chewer, polish picker on my best days. I also paint quite often, so its hard for me to just keep my hands clean of regular paint!

That does not mean that I don't enjoy a good nail color. Especially now when nail patterns have gotten to be so popular.

I was first introduced to Jamberry by my friend Christi, whose SIL had recently started selling them. She let me try some that she had ordered.

I used Darkest Black for my main nails and Leopard for my accent. It was fairly easy to get the hang of it, and there are plenty of online tutorials there at your fingertips.

Prices are descent, and they last quite awhile (with a little upkeep, like extra filing as your nails get longer and from general use).

Since trying Christi's, I've bought 5 sets (they usually have good deals, like buy 3, get 1 free).

Mint Green & Gold Horizontal Stripe

That I used as an accent nail, with a Gold OPI (I don't remember the color)

 Guacamole (no longer available)

Another accent nail, paired with a red from OPI.

Navy Quarterfoil

Sahara (no longer available)

Urban Lights

Top reasons why I love Jamberry:
No dry time
No weird finger prints on your nails, even after you let them dry the suggested amount of time
Cool design that I could never achieve with actual polish, or polish pins
Price: it may seem kind of expensive, but you can really stretch one set, I think about 2 pedi's and
          2 mani's or something.

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!!

Groomsmen Gifts

Oh, man....men giving men gifts. Could life be more awkward?

When time came for us to start putting ideas in the hat about what to give our groomsmen, we were coming up with nothing! We both really wanted something out of the norm for groomsmen gifts.

Back in the deep pockets of my mind I had remembered seeing this pin on Pinterest of a couple who gave their groomsmen their own bobbleheads.

I thought it was absolutely hilarious but just knew Jake would think it was dumb...so with zero confidence I casually mentioned the idea and he totally surprised me. He LOVED the idea. Score!

So, after a lot of research between different websites, prices, shipping times, etc we chose to order our bobble heads from Likenessme. They offered a coupon at the time as well, so that sealed the deal even more! Wonderful website and customer service. A little bit of a language barrier, but nothing major. I would totally order from them again!

Once we chose the body for each of our guys, it came time for the most difficult part...getting pictures of 5 guys, some of them more stubborn than others (Kevin..) and a squirmy 4 year old without letting them on to what our gift was going to be. Every submission needed a left and right profile and a close up of their face. After we had gotten the guy's pictures taken care of, you had to submit the pictures and choose different features you wanted (eye color, skin color, glasses, did you want the head to "bobble"...um YES!). This was seriously time consuming...but so worth it!

When Jake & I got them in the mail it was like we were kids on Christmas morning. We would guess who was in each box before we opened and squeal if we were right. When it came time to give the gifts I think we were just as nervous! They turned out to be such a big hit, and just seeing the look on the guy's faces was so worth it!!

Here is Jake with all of the guys and Bryson!

Kevin. Best Man. Hunter.

Julian. Groomsman. Photographer.

Brandon. Groomsman. Musician. (I don't have one of his up close)

Joseph. Groomsman. Firefighter.

Paul. Groomsman. Soccer player.

Bryson. Ring Bearer. Professional Cutie.

We are so lucky that these are just some of the awesome guys in our lives! Thanks to Julian for most of these pictures!
